I have come to an interesting realization lately. In the Christian walk, it is important to maintain a Holy life, devoted to God. Jesus forgives us of our sins, and we are to strive to be more like him; Holy and Pure. obviously no simple task, indeed impossible, spare the Grace of God.
That isn't the realization though. While it is very vital that I understand the need to be set apart and Holy, I realized today that I have trouble being urged to pursue holiness. We have been reading a book titled "The Pursuit of Holiness" in class. Most of the things the author says I find to be True; Fleeing from Sin, not compromising Truth, Sexual purity. The issue isn't that I disagree with him, its that the subject matter fatigues me. It makes me feel as though no matter what I do, I cant achieve this end. In truth I cant, only Jesus' grace can give me holiness. but seeing in print makes me discouraged about my walk to the point of wanting to give up trying. the benefit in all of this, However, is it helps me to realize how much I need Jesus in life. this being said, all is not lost.
Reading about purity doesn't inspire me to pursue a holy life. But hearing about the way God is moving does. Being in a close relationship, Depending on God to provide when I cannot, Trusting that God foreknows the outcome of life and is guiding me accordingly to his will. This makes me excited about God. This makes me want to pray. This makes me desire to be as close to God as possible. This makes me want to flee from sin so I can be as close to and as much like this Man as possible.
I suppose in the end, we must be taught about holiness. But maybe I'm learning that the way to holiness isn't found with how hard I try. Maybe I'm finally realizing that holiness starts and ends with God. It feels good to finally learn this. to feel the answer to many prayers.

A little about my self.
Well, Blogs always interested me. I never thought I would ever actually get one myself. Iv always thought of them as a way to preach and Judge from the safety of a computer screen. I suppose they go deeper than that. for me its away to get my thoughts out in print. the benefit being that I now have the chance to strike up a thought provoking conversation with anyone who stumbles upon my thoughts. Let me be the first to admit, I by no means have the right answers to just about anything. I'm merely making observations from my point of view on the world as I see it. If anyone comes to read my Blog, Great. If not, at the end of the day I've written down my thoughts in an effort to better release the intellectual buildup that accumulates from every day life.
A little about myself, I am indeed a Christian. My hope however, is that I don't need to mention it again. My hope is that regardless of how you see religion or Christ in general, I can conduct myself in a way the values the inherent worth of all those I encounter. My hope is that regardless of how you view Christ, I may honor him by living my life according to his will. My hope is Love.
I also believe I am called to being an artist by trade. In this I have much improvement to make. Through my art, however, I hope to show that A person can, indeed, be a christian without conforming to a cookie cutter mold. One doesn't need to cut/trim/dye/remove his hair/tattoos/clothes/piercings/hobbies in order to follow Christ. One can worship Christ using the unique and cherished personality that s/he was given. (I'm aware that many use "this is just the way God made me" in order to sin. I agree; this is incorrect. but God did create a unique being in everyone and there are more ways to "worship" than singing hymns).
My other intentions are to show that it is possible to create visibly appealing artwork that doesn't require large revealed breasts. I hope to show men and women as real people. I want to show that a woman can be attractive based on virtue and personality as well as beauty. I want to show that a man can be a true man without bench pressing cars and rippling muscles. I want to show that a man and woman can still be handsome or beautiful based without using their bodies to emphasize the point. Many would argue that there is nothing wrong with the male or female form, I would agree. I enjoy drawing both forms, both for different reasons. I enjoy studying the complex structures of the body as it balances and is effected by gravity. I can do all of this without having intentionally sexualized people.
Well, In closing, through the random drawings, sketching, thoughts and comments take them as they are; my own. I would enjoy hearing your comments and feedback on anything I post. Agree or disagree. I enjoy discussion.
